Canadian Red Cross CPR/AED Course

  • Includes 2005 First Aid & CPR Guidelines
  • 3-year certification (or as medical control allows)
  • AED content and certification included where local legislation permits
  • Take-home materials: Red Cross CPR/AED Manual, certification card


CPR LEVEL A
Four hour course; intended for the workplace and general public.

Course Content:
  • Adult CPR - one rescuer
  • Adult choking
  • Barrier devices/pocket masks
  • AED where legislation permits
  • Rescue breathing is not taught at this level


CPR LEVEL B
Five hour course; intended for families, parents, general public, and child care professionals.

Course Content:
  • Adult/Child/Baby CPR - one rescuer
  • Adult/Child/Baby choking
  • Barrier device/pocket masks
  • AED where legislation permits
  • Rescue Breathing is not taught at this level


CPR LEVEL C
Six hour course; intended for police, fire, first responders, workplace first aid teams and lifeguards.

Course Content:
  • Adult/Child/Baby CPR - one rescuer
  • Adult/Child/Baby choking
  • Barrier device/pocket masks
  • AED where legislation permits
  • Rescue Breathing may be taught at this level
  • Adult/Child • two rescuer CPR (30:2 ratio only)


CPR LEVEL HCP
Six hour course; intended for Healthcare Providers • Physicians, nurses, paramedics, and Allied Healthcare Providers (RT, OT, PT) *If responder is trained to the First Responder, Emergency Medical Responder Attendant or equivalent level or higher.

Course Content:
  • Adult/Child/Baby CPR - one rescuer
  • Adult/Child/Baby choking
  • Barrier device/pocket masks
  • AED certification
  • Rescue breathing may be taught at this level
  • Adult/Child/Baby • two rescuer CPR (30:2 ratio - Adult and 15:2 ratio - child and baby)
  • BVM
  • This level meets all ILCOR guildlines
