Course Info

A Flagger, or a Traffic Control Person (TCP), is responsible to provide safe traffic control for motorists, pedestrians, and workers. ProSafe offers the official certification program set by the BC Construction Safety Alliance (BCCSA).

 

The BCCSA’s course for TCPs consists of classroom & practical training and is the only program accepted by WorkSafeBC under Section 18 of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation for high-risk traffic control.

  • Roles & responsibilities of TCPs, employers & supervisors

  • Regulations & standards, including those set out by the Ministry of Transportation, WorkSafeBC & the Motor Vehicle Act

  • Traffic control equipment & devices, including personal protective equipment

  • Setting up, maintaining & removing work zones

  • Working around equipment

  • Basic & advanced traffic control skills
